We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems using Scala and Akka.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Scala, Akka Actors and Streams, Kafka, gRPC, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra.

  2. Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

  3. Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design sessions to ensure best practices and high code quality.

  4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers.

  5. Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.

  6. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in backend development, contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes.

Requirements:

  1. Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.

  2. Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, preferably working with Java or Scala and one or more of the technologies mentioned above.

  3. Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, microservices architecture, and event-driven programming.

  4. An understanding of the principles of functional programming is required. Experience applying those principles is highly desired.

  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in production environments.

  6. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.

  7. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with message brokers such as Kafka for building scalable and resilient data pipelines.

  2. Proficiency with various database systems such as PostgreSQL and Cassandra.

  3. Familiarity with API development using technologies like REST and gRPC for efficient communication between services.

  4. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
