Our projects are diverse and impactful; our customers build digital literacy centers in the highlands of Guatemala, power remote communities in fire-prone areas of California and provide mobile renewable energy emergency services during natural disasters. Our unique software platform uses IoT technology and AI algorithms to reduce operating costs and increase control and visibility.
New Sun Road is seeking an Operations and Fulfillment Technician to work with its Stellar Edge (SE) Engineering team and the Operations team. SE is New Sun Road’s hardware product for monitoring and control of microgrid power systems. You will develop expertise in embedded system technology by assisting in the design validation, testing and quality assurance, fulfillment, and documentation of SE products.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate specialized laboratory equipment for embedded hardware development and production.
- Execute quality assurance processes for SE devices, including preparing test harnesses.
- Organize, manage, and help to maintain the laboratory, office, and storage areas.
- Manage inventory to support New Sun Road production, including counting and reporting on parts and finished goods inventory.
Qualifications
- Educational interest in power system engineering topics, computer science and hardware quality assurance.
- Prior experience working with electrical equipment in a lab or production environment.
- Quality assurance experience preferred.
- Detail oriented with an interest in data and tracking.
Administrative Details
- Term: October 15 – December , 2024.
- Reports to the Operations Manager, with oversight and mentorship from the VP of IoT Engineering.
- Commitment: 15-20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $18-$24/hour.
- On site in Richmond CA, 2-3 days per week.
