As a member of GDI’s team, you’ll continue to improve the performance of GDI’s Si anode technology, scale the technology to gigawatt scale, and join our effort in the fight against climate change.
In particular, you will maintain, develop and advance our Si anode deposition process using our PECVD in the Netherlands, help with equipment design, installation and validation, and support manufacturing development with our partner AGC in Germany. You will interact with private and public partners to integrate our anodes into both mainstream and emerging battery architectures.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to improve GDI’s Si anode performance and scalability
- Produce PECVD-based Si anodes using pilot and production deposition technologies
- Hands-on tool equipment installation, utilization and maintenance as needed, with the support of GDI’s technical team and existing partners
- Ensure reproducibility and stability of the deposition process
- Interact with partners to integrate GDI’s anode
- Expand our in-depth understanding of the relationship between deposition process and anode performance
- Position GDI at the forefront of Si anode technologies through patents and collaborations
Know-how:
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics or equivalent with a strong background in thin-film deposition
- Proven track record in Si thin-film deposition by CVD/PECVD.
- Experience with sheet-to-sheet and roll-to-roll thin-film deposition processing and troubleshooting. Data analysis and interpretation
- Thin-film microstructural and mechanical characterization. Ability to analyze, interpret and present results
- Experience in electrochemistry is a plus
- Professional proficiency in English (oral and written). Dutch and/or German is a plus
