Are you passionate about the renewable energy revolution? Do you want to contribute towards the development of the batteries of tomorrow?

About The Company

GDI is a global researcher and manufacturer of advanced 100% silicon anode technology for next generation Li-ion batteries. Silicon will drive the future of Li-ion battery performance, but it also has many challenges to overcome in order to become the dominant anode material in the global battery industry. GDI is looking for committed, passionate individuals that want to be on the cutting edge of battery technology, solving complex problems. Are you one?

The company has demonstrated its anode’s superior performance by testing multi-layered pouch cells that can charge from 10-75% state of charge in just 15 minutes over 600 cycles without additional lithium. However, what truly sets GDI apart from competitors is our focus on industrial manufacturing. GDI and its partners are making anodes on industrial solar and glass manufacturing equipment that is in use worldwide.

Your mission:

As a member of GDI’s team, you’ll help improve the performance of GDI’s Si anode technology, scale the technology from kilowatt to gigawatt scale, and join our effort in the fight against climate change. In particular, your role will be focused on operating our equipment in our R&D and pilot-production lab in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and supporting manufacturing development with our partners. You will be part of a team focused on silicon anode deposition and upscaling.

Your responsibilities:

  • Operation of vacuum deposition equipment, including but not limited to routinely logging and measurement preset values, keeping and updating our inventory
  • Preparation, loading, unloading and packaging of anodes for lithium-ion energy storage products and components (e.g., anodes or battery cells) by chemical vapor deposition. Careful logging of deposition parameters
  • Informing PECVD process engineers and technicians of any equipment malfunction that need immediate attention
  • Communicating, in both written and oral format on the technical status of the equipment used

  • Familiar with MS Excel and MS Office suite
  • Post-secondary vocational education (i.e. MBO level 3-4) in a technical field
  • Experience in a production environment is a plus
  • Professional proficiency in English (oral and written). Dutch is a plus

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to help build an innovative company with a challenging mission where you can keep developing your professional career.
  • Be part of a vibrant, multicultural, and growing team based in the EU (Eindhoven NL) and the US (Rochester, NY)
  • A competitive salary and participation in the employee stock options plan
  • The opportunity to travel mostly in the EU and occasionally to the US (25%)
