Company Description

Davis Hill Development (DHD) is seeking a Solar Sales Manager to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be eager to perform cold calling and targeted outreach including phone, email, and in-person networking. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with exceptional people skills, and enthusiasm surrounding renewable energy projects.

General Job Description

The position will support the expansion of DHD’s commercial solar development team. Candidates should be self-starters with a demonstrated history of professional success. This role will:

● Join a well-established solar development company, active mainly in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast but expanding geographically.

● Lead cold calling efforts to educate and contract directly with Commercial and Industrial (C&I), Real Estate and MUSH building owners, to find rooftop solar project opportunities in DHD’s key markets.

● Manage email and digital marketing campaigns to support sales effort.

● Initiate, foster, and maintain relationships with clients across C&I, Real Estate and MUSH clients to guide them through the entire sales process including education, evaluation, qualification, pricing and closing of the sale, offering custom renewable solutions for a changing economy.

● Enjoy a high degree of independence and ownership for growing sales while receiving a great deal of support from other DHD resources, including the development, finance, and marketing teams.

Compensation: This role is a base salary plus commission, commensurate with Sales experience.

Responsibilities

The Solar Sales Manager is responsible for establishing relationships and closing contracts with commercial building owners, preferably larger owners of real estate. You are expected to generate your own accounts through organic sales efforts, either directly or through channel partners or other networks. You may also work with other Skyview business units who are already engaged with corporate clients, and take those leads to originate and develop on-site and off-site solar power projects.

The role is responsible for:

● Originating, managing and closing on new opportunities for commercial solar power projects, through direct cold calling, cold outreach, and in person networking settings.

● Creating proposals for building owners and landowners.

● Working with DHD Director of Marketing to implement targeted sales and marketing campaigns, utilizing digital and traditional marketing materials.

● Attending regional and national industry trade shows and other networking events.

● Identifying, negotiating and executing on channel partner opportunities.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

● Interest and enthusiasm for the Renewable Energy sector

● Enthusiasm to vet, chase, and close leads.

● 1-2 years of experience selling commercial solar, energy efficiency, or similar products or services to real estate or corporate purchasers.

● Knowledge or interest of sustainability related topics including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics and trends.

● Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.

● Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Ability to speak on the phone effectively, as well as articulate development steps and stages.

● Prior knowledge of CRM software or data management tool a plus.
