General Job Description:
Davis Hill Development (DHD) is looking to add a Solar Electrician to our Operations and Maintenance team. The position will support the expansion of DHD’s commercial asset management team that manages our growing portfolio of distributed solar, commercial solar, energy storage and electric vehicle charging systems in the United States. We are looking for an Electrician to perform both preventative and corrective maintenance activities at our rooftop and ground mount solar PV sites to ensure the systems perform at expected levels and maintain communications. Additionally, we want a candidate that knows how and wants to grow a business – we are starting the solar O&M side of the business and want this member of the team to be active in expanding our services to other businesses and markets.
Responsibilities:
- Daily travel to sites to operational solar sites and to sites under construction. This includes travel to DC/MD, CT/NJ/NY and upstate NY/MA.
- Test and troubleshoot electrical equipment per manufacturer’s recommendation. This includes solar inverters, modules, AC and DC cabling, combiner boxes, DAS/SCADA equipment, auxiliary transformers, panelboards and breakers, etc. DC and AC testing including but was not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, insulation resistance testing, and IV Curve Tracing.
- Preventative Maintenance – regularly visit sites to perform inspections which include wiring and PV connector checks, torque verifications, thermal imaging, string testing, inverter maintenance, etc.
- Corrective Maintenance – troubleshooting string and central inverters, DC array issues, and communications issues.
- Manage the RMA process for replacing faulty equipment still under manufacturer warranty
- Provide Quality Assurance support and occasional inspections for our construction team
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement on every job site.
Experience / Qualifications
- Licensed Electrician (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of electrical wiring experience (Required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience with solar electrical systems (Required)
- OSHA 10, or ability to obtain
- NFPA 70e, or ability to obtain
- CPR and First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain
- Experience with SolarEdge, Chint, SMA, Solectria, Enphase inverters (Preferred)
- Experience with SolarEdge, SMA, SolrenView, Enphase, AlsoEnergy PowerTrack, eGauge DAS/SCADA monitoring platforms (Preferred)
- Familiarity with battery storage systems (Preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO New England, PJM, and/or other ISOs (Preferred)
- Proficient knowledge of applicable NEC code and reading electrical drawings (Required)
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (Required)

- Ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
