Role & Compensation
Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager, the Maintenance Technician is a key contributor responsible for providing corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance to all production and support equipment under limited supervision to produce high quality cellulose insulation. In addition to being hands on in the plant during scheduled hours. In this job, you will:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of manufacturing equipment to include:
- Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- PLCs and VFDs controlled equipment
- AC/DC motors
- Industrial machinery
- HVAC and blower systems
- Industrial piping and plumbing systems
- General construction and facility maintenance
- Work closely with peers, supervisor, and engineering team to deeply understand root cause failure and use those learnings to continuously improve equipment availability to meet production goals.
- Document all work performed on equipment.
- Attend shift pass-down meetings and communicate daily activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process control systems as needed to keep the plant running efficiently and effectively with minimal downtime.
- Prepare for and execute preventative maintenance functions.
- Work with Maintenance Lead to maintain the spare parts inventory.
- Work and collaborate as directed by Engineering on projects, designs, upgrades and implementation.
- Complete assigned work orders with the least disruption possible to daily production.
- Actively participate and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance of safety and environmental rules and regulations.
Salary: $34-$40 hourly
Requirements
The right candidate will bring experience in these areas:
- Plant Startup: We seek an individual who has been a part of a maintenance team during the successful launch of a production facility or production lines.
- Procedure Development and Training: The maintenance technician will have previous successful experience in troubleshooting electromechanical processes and implementing process improvements to avoid future issues.
- Experience Across a Range of Scales and Vantage Points: We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with the high paced environment of a disruptive startup but can understand the mindset of large and small counterparts and suppliers who are grinding out pennies in mature industries and can help us with operational efficiencies as we mature.
- Hands on DNA: Partnering with the CleanFiber team on the floor will come naturally to the candidate. This individual will be helping us build and maintain equipment and processes for the plant, but also contribute to efforts required to scale up the plant and improve it.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Technical School education/training in Electro-mechanical, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or Electrical preferred).
Nice-To-Have Experience
- At least 1+ year of prior maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
- Ability to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install and update basic electrical systems and components.
- Knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience in insulation, pulp & paper and/or building products industries.
- CleanTech and/or other venture experience.
