Continuous Improvement Manager

Role

Identify strategic opportunities for significant improvements in productivity, efficiency, and operations. Collaboratively develop the strategic objectives to drive continuous improvement through data, analytics, and process/system modifications. Focus on operational efficiencies to improve the organization's profitability through process enhancement, standardization, and change management. Work with and across all levels of the organization to ensure continuous improvement that supports and maintains all assets and systems. Work across all CleanFiber business processes to determine needs, quantify value, define requirements, and improve organizational capabilities aligned with the overarching CleanFiber strategy.

Continuous Improvement Scope:

  • Provide leadership to operational functions to drive productivity with a focus on efficiencies, yield, people capability building and waste elimination opportunities.
  • Acts as a change agent for initiating and leading continuous process improvement.
  • Provide strong operational leadership and foster an operational culture that drives structured, standardized and disciplined execution and performance.
  • Evaluate and challenge current operations and identify strategic opportunities to enhance/modify processes and establish a continuous improvement culture.
  • Work with all functional leaders (EHS, Quality, Cost, Operations, Maintenance, and Technical) to identify gaps and lead the prioritization process to develop site and business critical remediation plans during each business cycle
  • Drive continuous improvement into the culture by educating and coaching plant teams.
  • Advocate Lean Methodologies, Operational Excellence and Six Sigma principles in developing organizational solutions
  • Support and lead business processes through the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive manufacturing's incremental productivity commitments.
  • Develop and lead routines to drive the measurement of downtime and plans to improve uptime.
  • Develop and lead routines to ensure data accuracy across all aspects of the business.
  • Provide governance for manufacturing measurement policies.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve line efficiencies through root cause analysis, efficient troubleshooting and Lean methods.
  • Collaborate with all company functions (i.e. Maintenance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, HR, Engineering, Quality, IT, Planning, etc. ) to ensure customers expectation are met.
  • Provide data analysis regarding line performance and trends for manufacturing (OEE, yield, uptime, reactive downtime etc.) and maintenance.
  • Lead implementation of a comprehensive visual factory to ensure efficient communication across the entire workplace.
  • Collaborate with automation/IT specialists to develop dashboards for manufacturing and maintenance KPIs.
  • Champion change management by building trust through direct engagement, problem solving, and building relationships.
  • Responsible for monthly efficiency reviews with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Promote CI activities, recognize and reward successes and celebrate CI accomplishments.
  • Proactively recommends business solutions through the CI lens and can articulate how continuous improvement tools and process can drive business value
  • Lead problem-solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste in all areas. Instill a diplomatic and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Drive accountability, consistency, efficiency, quality, and process standardization across all aspects of the business.
  • Responsible for development of the long-term Continuous Improvement strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of related industry experience in progressively increasing roles.
  • Outstanding drive for impact and ability to lead through teaching and coaching
  • Adept at scoping problems, applying statistical techniques, and leading individuals through process improvement and data analytics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to advocate for and present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytic and financial acumen. Demonstrated experience in budgeting for a plant’s operation.
  • Creative solutionist with a strategic mindset along with the ability to turn concepts into action.
  • Able to effectively hold people accountable even if in senior or peer relationships.
  • Acts decisively with a proven ability to take on and solve complex problems independently.
  • Proven capabilities in successfully executing projects with teams. Experience of designing remediation plans to address productivity and efficiency issues, then are track and follow through to ensure closure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, associates and subject matter experts.

Cellulose insulation wins customers from fiberglass because of greater energy efficiency, and from foam because of its much lower price point. CleanFiber makes highly efficient cellulose insulation from recycled corrugated boxes, allowing us to challenge incumbent players who are reliant on diminishing supplies of recycled newsprint. With successful execution at our first facility, we believe we are well-positioned to rapidly seize market share on a national scale. We are a game changer!

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,00- $125,000
