Us Weekly is looking for a summer intern to assist our editorial team from June 1 to September 1. This role will provide critical support for our digital and reporting teams, and candidates should have experience writing and juggling multiple priorities. Applicants should have a deep love of pop culture and be able to work at the fast pace of a newsroom, with a can-do attitude and ability to keep a close eye on small details. This is a unique opportunity for someone eager to gain real-world experience in entertainment media, collaborate directly with editors and reporters, and develop strong editorial instincts while contributing to a leading pop culture brand. Applicants with experience handling interviews are strongly encouraged to apply, but it is not a requirement for the right candidate.

Candidates Should Also Be Prepared To

• Assist Us Weekly editorial team with research for upcoming stories
• Work closely with reporters and editors to support daily coverage, features, and breaking news
• Find and pull creative assets (photos/videos) for digital writers to use in daily stories
• Participate in brainstorms for Us Weekly digital
• Assist with building out and improving internal databases
• Support reporters with the interview process, including assistance with recording, helping with research, and accurate transcribing with quick turnaround times
• Support on-site event coverage team as needed
• Create stories and content for Us Weekly digital as needed
  
  

Requirements

If applying in California, a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance meeting or exceeding the legally mandated minimum requirements is required as some driving to job sites will be necessary.

The anticipated base pay range for this positon is $20 per hour, 40 hours per week.
