Position: Supervisor of Merchandising

On-site position: will service product in multiple stores and travel between them

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Madison, TN

Reports To: Director of Merchandising

Compensation

  • Competitive Wage $60,000 to include Travel time between accounts is paid.
  • Referral Retention bonus after 6 months as defined in the Program details.

Direct Reports: Part-Time Merchandisers (with potential oversight of some Full-Time Merchandiser Leads)

Schedule

  • Assigned stores are serviced on designated weekdays according to the established schedule.

Travel: Travel expected up to 100% of the time to cover territory

Requirements

  • 1-3 years supervisory experience required.
  • General merchandising experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask and detail-oriented.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner.
  • Adherence to the company’s attendance policy.
  • Reliable transportation for travel.
  • Ability to use Movista and/or other company-required applications.
  • Mobile device.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, the internet, and email applications.

Employment contingent on background check, 4 panel drug test (does not include THC), and MVR clearance.

Summary Of Responsibilities

40% Operations Management

  • Manage merchandising operations to develop and execute merchandising plans that deliver volume and profit goals.
  • Ensure milestones/goals are met and adhered to and enforce the approved budgeted store hours.
  • Monitor and enforce correct completion of mplans/store reporting, store surveys, usage of all business applications, all policies, and procedures.

20% Merchandising

  • Work within a retail environment to effectively merchandise products by applying appropriate store and/or corporate standards. Safely and efficiently replenish product. May assemble shelves/racks and display cases following measurement guidelines.
  • Travel and overnight stay as the market dictates. Adhere to the company’s Travel & Entertainment policy.

40% People Management

  • Hire, train, manage, and coach the merchandiser workforce to ensure quality work abides by company policies and procedures.
  • Manage onboarding process for assigned region(s). Disposition candidates, interview per hiring guidelines, select and recommend qualified candidates.
  • Notify the Director, Merchandising of staffing gaps and recommend recruiting and retention.
  • Review and approve merchandiser payroll hours on time. Ensure timekeeping requirements are followed, including time variance forms for any missed punches, and that merchandisers are utilizing the timekeeping system to record all work hours.
  • Seek approval from the Director for merchandisers who may need to work more than 10 hours per day or overtime.
  • Notify the Director of pay disparities between employees servicing within a 20-mile radius and any personnel or performance concerns.
  • Adjust schedule and staffing needs to meet budgeted hours.

  • Meet or exceed compliance goal (100%).
  • Meet budget requirements for entire market and individual stores.
  • Continual hiring/training to keep market staffed.
  • Drive sales by enforcing pocket integrity, flowcharts/planograms (POGs), and providing dedicated service.
  • Excellent communication with Director on market conditions/concerns.
  • Maintain accurate information on the QSP/Master Store List and open requisitions.
